Leicester
have called a press conference for tomorrow (Tuesday) morning
at 11am where they will announce the signing of Ipswich striker
James Scowcroft.
Scowcroft
finally agreed personal terms today after having a meeting
with City boss Peter Taylor. Although the fee is undisclosed
it is thought that Ipswich will have wanted at least £3
Million for their 25 year old striker.
This
all means that Scowcroft could make his debut in a City shirt
as early as tomorrow night when City take on Stoke in a friendly.
Peter
Taylor talked about the deal to reporters saying, "Once
we agreed the fee with Ipswich the deal was done pretty quickly.
"We've
spoken to James today and he's very keen on coming here. He's
just the player we're after and he will undoubtedly strengthen
us up front."
The
signing represents a personal achievement for Peter Taylor
who has been trying to get Scowcrofts signature for sometime
but was foiled several times in his attempts. Just when the
deal looked dead an buried though it seems that Taylor has
finally got it together.
Whether
it will make up for not signing John Hartson though remains
to be seen.
So
Taylor has finally got his man. But is he the one YOU want?
