City
travelled down the A5 to Tamworth today to take on the Doc
Marten's team in the Foxes' 2nd pre-season friendly.
The
team had a Reserve feel, although some first teamers got a
good run out.
Tamworth:
Acton, Follett, Mutchell, Grocutt, Gould, Turner, Mills, Norton,
Hatton, Rickards, Haywood. Subs (All Used) Hallam, Anger,
Kearns, Gozzard, Colley, Smith, Pryce.
Leicester
City: Flowers, Reeves, Thomas, Piper, Heath, Delaney, Jones,
Oakes, Benjamin, Stewart. Subs: Sherman, Price, Smith, Lythe,
Asuton, Stevenson.
It
was only £4 to get in, programmes 50p, free car parking
and £1 transfer to the stand. A whopping 843 people
saw a pretty dire game to be honest!
It
took City until the 85th miinute to break the deadlock with
a lovely strike from Reeves, who no longer has a Robbie Savage
haircut.
Jones
captained the team and put on quite a good show, running the
midfield in the first half and dropping back to right back
in the second.
Damien
Delaney was outstanding and looks not only rock solid playing
as a centre half but alsoa supremely confident and gobby leader
and surely not only a star in the making but a future Captain?
Nice
to stand on the terraces for a change but lets hope we don't
have too many games this dull, eh?!
