Muzzy
Izzet has spoken out about all the recent transfer rumours and
said he's staying at Leicester.
He
said:
"I
am staying at Leicester. All the rumours and speculation this
summer have been unsettling for me and the fans. So I want
to emphasise there is no truth in the rumours that I am ready
to leave the club.
"My
family are settled in the area, and the five years I have
had at City have been the happiest and most successful of
my career.
"I
signed a new long-term contract last summer, and there are
still three years remaining on that."
Izzet
missed the end of last season with a torn calf muscle but
insists he is back to his best and is looking forward to the
new season. He added:
"It
was frustrating when I had to miss the last two months of
last season with injury, but I'm fully fit again now and can't
wait for the new season to begin."
Peter
Taylor has also dismissed today's speculation that Tim Flowers
is off to Villa (What is it with the Villa and Celtic stories?).
Taylor
told SkySports tonight that he expects Tim to be starting
in the first game of the season.
Tim
himself has spoken out about his injuries and the new signing,
Ian Walker:
"I
feel okay, and although I know I have this problem I can get
by with it.
"Obviously
the arrival of Ian will create more competition, but that
has to be good for the club. But I've never needed competition
to drive me on, and I certainly intend to battle for that
first team spot."
