Both John Elsom and Muzzy Izzet have spoken about their delight
at Dennis Wise agreeing to join Leicester this week.
Leicester
Chairman, John Elsom completed negotiations for 34-year-old's
three-year-deal on Monday night. Wisey is due back in Leicester
on Thursday for a medical and if, as expected, everything
goes to plan then he will sign a contract and be officially
unveiled at a press conference at Filbert Street on Monday
when Taylor returns from his holiday in Spain. John Elsom
said:
"He
will be an on the field motivator for us and his experience
will be a major asset."
The
City chairman said that no negotiations had taken place over
whether Wise would be given the captains armband and that
the decision was down to the manager.
Elsom
has confirmed that Peter Taylor has more money to spend and
hopes to sign two more players this summer..
Muzzy
Izzet, who used to clean Wisey's boots when he was a trainee
at Chelsea, told the Daily Express that
"It
will be another ambition achieved when we line up alongside
each other next season,"
"Since
Neil Lennon left we've been short of a real leader off the
pitch and I am sure Wisey will become an inspirational figure
very quickly."
Muzzy
also said
"If
we can get John Hartson as well we can be a real force next
season.
"Hopefully
this was just the first shot across Coventry's bows and John
will eventually arrive at Filbert Street."
