There
seems to be no shortage of rumours about who we are going
to sign at the minute. And most of the rumours involve Goalkeepers.
So here's the top two goalkeeper rumours with their latest
developments.
Roy
Carroll:
The rumour that just will not die and like Arnie, it's back!
Latest news is that Latics boss Paul Jewell has said that
he will not stand in the way if Carroll wishes to leave the
club for a Premiership team.
Filbert Street though are a little more cagey in what they
say and who they say it to. The latest word from City officials
is, "There will be an official comment from the club
at some point in the future."
Which
isn't helpful but they did goon to say, "It is no secret
that we have been watching Carroll and it is no secret that
we need a keeper, this is an ongoing thing. Flowers struggled
with his hips last year and it's not ideal to have kids on
the bench.
"Most
Premiership club's have three keepers these days so, yes,
we are looking for another one. But until there is an official
comment any talk about Carroll is purely speculation."
So
there you go, clear as mud, as usual.
Dave
Beasant:
42
year old ex-Forest 'keeper Dave Beasant has confirmed that
Leicester made an inquiry over his availability but says he
hasn't made a decision on his future.... yet.
City are said to be one of several clubs who have checked
out Beasant since Forest let him go at the end of last season.
Beasant
thoughts on it all? "Leicester have been in touch but
so far there is nothing definite and you can never guarantee
anything until it is offered and signed. There are a few possibilities
but nothing has been sorted out yet.
