It
looks like Peter Taylor's involvement could be about to come
to an end with his admission that John Elsom is to make a
decision on his involvement and that it could be "A close
call".
Elsom
is due to have talks with the FA about Taylor's involvement
with England when he returns from his holiday this week and
although he has never had a problem with it before, after
City's poor end of season run in, he may refuse the Taylor
permission.
Although
Taylor has been a key member of Sven Goran Eriksson's backroom
team his contract with England ran out after the 2-0 World
Cup qualifier win over Greece and that could have been Peter
Taylor's last game for England.
Taylor said, "It is a case of England speaking to John
Elsom and I am not sure which way that one is going to go.
"He
is put under pressure with the results at Leicester City and
then it is difficult for him to release his manager. It will
be a close call."
Whichever
decision is made it will not affect City's Premiership start.
Taylor has already pulled out of Englands game against Holland
which was due to be played three days before the start of
the season on August 15.
