The
web is rife with speculation at the moment concerning not
only Peter Taylor's future but also that of former Spurs coach
George "Gimmer a bung" Graham.
Rumours
have persisted about Graham coming to City for quite some
time now and were intensified just before the end of the season
when City were in free fall down the Premier Table.
Several
online news sources are suggesting that Graham could be given
the job of Technical Director, freeing Peter Taylor up to
do other things.
City's
official site were quick to squash these rumours, which originally
appeared in the Daily Mail Newspaper, with Chairman John Elsom
saying, "Much of the wording in this article is journalistic
conjecture. There has been no discussion whatsoever about
the possibility of bringing in a general manager.
"The
Football Association have not, as yet, approached me regarding
the services of Peter Taylor for their training sessions next
season.
"However,
in discussions with Peter, I have made it clear that we would
not be able to countenance releasing him for the Holland game
in the week prior to the start of the Premiership season.
"If
the FA do approach me with regard to subsequent matches next
season I will consider the matter in the light of the discussions
I would have with them at that time."
