Even
though Peter Taylor is still desperate to reassure fans that
he is not going to let any of his stars, including Gerry Taggart,
Muzzy Izzet and Matt Elliott, he still insists that he will
listen to any offers for his "fringe players".
Just
who these fringe players are, and indeed what the offers could
be worth, is a mystery but two players who are almost certain
to not be playing for City next season are Stuart Campbell
and Richard Cresswell.
Cresswell
is currently on loan with Play Off finalists Preston North
End and his move is expected to be made permanent after the
final with the fee being around 750,000 GBP.
Next
out the door will be Stuart Campbell who will make his loan
move to Grimsby permanent in the next few days for 200,000
GBP.
But Taylor acted quickly to dismiss rumours that some of his
stars would be leaving too. Taylor said, "I
have got to sell some players to raise the money and I understand
that.
"Our fall to 13th in the table has cost us because we
made our plans when we thought we would finish about seventh
or eighth.
"So I will have to sell to get people in. The best and
most important players will be staying but if I get asked
about those who have not been regulars, I would have to think
about it."
So you can all sleep easy now............ Or can you?
