Both
Teamtalk and Gills connect are reporting that Peter Taylor
is interested in bringing yet another one of his old side
Gillingham's players to City.
This
time the man in question is central defender Chris Hope, a
250,000 signing, has already been voted best signing by Gills
connect and would be missed by the Gills fans who must be
sick to the back teeth of LCFC by now.
After
bringing Steve Butler and Junior Lewis to City Gillingham
fans are beginning to get upset with the man who took them
to the First division with messages such as "Piss off
Taylor" appearing on Gill's boards all over the net.
If
Taylor was to make a move for the former Scunthorpe skipper
who has also had spells at Darlington and Forest (spit) it
is expected to be worth around 1 Million to Gills and it could
be money that they may find hard to turn down.
Gills
player-manager Andy Hessenthaler insists that he will not
stand in the way of any of his players should they be given
the chance to progress their career at a higher level, as
he demonstrated with Junior Lewis, a 150,000 signing for Taylor
earlier in the season.
But
although Hope is highly rated by his manager and most Gills
fans, City's army of supporters may feel let down if Taylor
buys yet another unknown player from the lower leagues.
With
Taylor already purchasing the likes of Benjamin, Delaney and
Marshall from outside the top City fans were hoping that a
big name signing could be just around the corner so this news
will disappoint a number of fans.
Still
with Hope rated so highly by his current boss he could be
another bargain basement signing that comes good in the long
run.
