Peter
Taylor is rumoured to want at least three new players to bolster
his squad for next season but there is a dispute on how much
he will have to spend, if any at all!
The
normally reliable footballtransfers.co.uk reports that Taylor
has already emptied the bank account, a report echoed among
the halls of Fleet Street. Although a couple of sources, including
TeamTalk believe that the figure could be closer to £7million.
Taylor
revealed that chairman John Elsom is set to back him with
any purchases that he wishes to make and that he hopes the
rest of the board will follow suit, as they have done in the
past, "We have already identified the areas in which
I feel we need to strengthen the squad. John Elsom is a very
supportive chairman and I think the board as a whole have
been very supportive as well.
"They have never turned me down and have allowed me to
sign the players I wanted. So I will be looking to sign two
or three players in the summer, and will also have my experienced
players fit and available again. I am genuinely confident
about our prospects."
Possible choices for Taylor could be relegated Coventry's
John Hartson Aston Villa's Dion Dublin and Julian Joachim
have also been linked along with Man Utd's Jonathan Greening
and a whole host of lower league players from various teams.
