Rumours
emanating from the web suggest that City defender Gerry Taggart
may miss the opening game of next season due to a knee injury
that he has had treatment on.
Taggart
had the operation last week to try and correct a long term
tendonitis problem in his knee which has meant he missed quite
a few games this season with him finally being ruled out for
the last few games a couple of weeks ago.
It
was hoped that the enforced lay off would have meant that
he would be back for next season's opener but Taggart has
been told that it could be as long as six months before he
is fit enough to play again.
City manager Peter Taylor said, "Gerry may be a doubt
for the start of next season after surgery on his knee.
"By
then I will have all the experienced players back fit. Gerry
is the only one who may be missing."
