Over
the last few weeks there has been plenty of stories of rifts
beginning to appear in the Leicester dressing room.
For
City's fans this was the ultimate act of betrayal by new manager
Peter Taylor.
Everyone
remembers how when O'Neill came here just after the fat Scottish
tosser left for Wolves the spirit in the dressing room was
less than nice.
Back
then it was left to Pontus Kaamark who used his Swedish sense
of fun to take it upon himself to start organising trips out
for the City lads. Go-Karting, Paintball and trips to the
races were all on the cards as the famed spirit of Leicester
was created.
For
four years the spirit has held well with all the lads being
mates on and off the pitch. While we watched the likes of
Middlesbrough fall apart on the pitch and in the dressing
room we slept easy at night because we knew that the spirit
of Leicester would hold firm.
But
times are changing and with a new manager and some new players
we have started to wonder whether the spirit of Leicester
would still stay with us.
Up
until a few weeks ago it looked like we were worrying about
nothing as City seemed to be getting along just fine.
Cue
the Villa away match when Matt Elliott's wife was SAID to
have been overheard talking about the rifts that were being
created and how the players didn't get on with Taylor.
Then
just afew weeks later we started to hear stories about certain
players and the fact that they were not happy. Izzet, Elliott,
Savage and Guppy were all said to be considering moves away
from City because of the atmosphere in the dressing room.
Then
Steve Walsh commits to an interview where he states quite
frankly that Peter Taylor has destroyed the atmosphere, spirit
and team that was built by Martin O'Neill.
A
fatal blow for Taylor. Walsh is still one of the most highly
respected players to have left Filbert Street and the fans
still hold him in very high esteem.
Soon
after several players including Tim Flowers aswell as Peter
Taylor himself tried to reassure fans that there was nothing
wrong with the City spirit. But still the rumours of Elliott
and Celtic and Izzet and West Ham would not go away.
It
is admitted that it has been a testing time for the players
with the recent run of defeats but City fans now face something
that they haven't had to worry about for sometime. Will will
lose some of our stars in the summer? Usually it was O'Neill
who we worried about in the off season but now it looks like
we could lose anything upto four players while the Premiership
takes a break.
But
if they do leave will it be because of a falling out with
Peter Taylor that has already happened?
FFS
tends to think not. We know how the tabloids work. Nothing
appears in them without reason. People are only interviewed
if their PR agents want them to be interviewed because there
is some kind of promotion in it for them. Remember that wisely
next time you read anything in the sun!
Just
recently LCFC's players were seen out and about in various
pubs in the City with each other. And as we all know you don't
hang around with your mates in the pub if you don't like them.
So maybe someone's been telling porky pies? Or are the players
just trying to fool us into a false sense of security?
