Those blue shirts and red eyes. What a combination! After 34 years too long our neighbours from Coventry have finally bit the bullet and went down to the Nationwide.

Anyone who's feeling down today for any reason whatsoever is urged to go out and buy a paper, anyone it doesn't really matter, turn to the sports pages and take a good long hard look at those tearful faces staring back at you. Grown men cry and women try and comfort their children with reassuring words like "The pies are better at Watford".

Even the manner in which their final fight with relegation ended was pure comedy. 2-1 up against hated rivals Villa with ten minutes togo before Villa's big money flop decided that now would be a good time to open his Premiership account. Already the fat lady was begging to sing but Paul Merson, 34 himself, added a 3rd 5 minutes before time.

And so it was, after taking the piss for far too long Coventry had been relegated by their most hated of rivals. How the rest of the Premiership rejoiced, how we laughed, how they cried!

Congratulations Gorden Strachan you finally took the scum down.
