When
the dust settles at the end of the season Peter Taylor may
have to look back long and hard to see where he can improve
his squad after the disastrous run of results that we suffered.
He
may just decide that we need to strengthen the squad with
some fresh new faces and if he does then there is no shortage
of candidates, put forward by the tabloids of course.
How
about Jonathan Greening? Leicester are apparently quite keen
on the Manchester United winger who looks set to quit Old
Trafford this summer, according to Teamtalk.
This rumour has been doing the rounds for a while now but
it looks like it could come to fruition, if the rumours are
to be believed.
Greening
is currently sidelined with a foot injury which has kept him
from moving before the end of the season along with a personal
plea by United boss Alex "Evil" Fergason, but with
a distinct lack of first team action for the 22 year old it
looks like he could be on his way out of Old Trafford with
Filbert Street being the number one choice.
Taylor
and Greening are no strangers with Taylor reguly picking him
for his under 21 squad when he was in charge of the England
set up.
But if a Man Utd player is bit to much like buying the devils
cast off's how about Coventry midfielder Paul Telfer who is
out of contract this summer?
With
Coventry's recent relegation it is expected that Telfer will
leave along with John Hartson who is also a possible target
for City and far more likely considering City's lack of fire
power this season.
The
only possible sticking point is that Derby are also thought
to be tracking Telfer aswell.
But
if it's the lower end of football leagues you want then look
no further than Port Vales Dave Brammer who is rumoured to
be a 750,000 target.
You
have to admit though that judging from performances this season,
Taylor would be well advised to look at some more striking
options before doing anything else.
