Peter
Taylor insists that his City team are improving despite crashing
3-0 at home to 'Boro.
Taylor
said, "I saw a few more encouraging signs this afternoon,
especially in the first half. Of course it is a big test for
me after losing so many games on the spin but we have got
to stick together.
"It
is clear we are still hurting from that defeat by Wycombe
in the FA Cup and confidence is low."
Despite
that he was pleased with his team's efforts, and the response
of the Filbert Street faithful.
"But
we did have a go and all you can do is instruct people in
certain situations," said Taylor. "The second goal
was a bad one to give away and you can't afford to do that
at this level.
"I
thought the crowd were very supportive. They were first class.
They could see we were trying hard."
Boro
coach Terry Venables though was overjoyed as his outfit virtually
secured their top flight status.
He
said: "Boksic is always liable to do that. When a keeper
sees him 30 yards out, he's got to check his angles. It was
top quality.
"We
achieved what we wanted and worked hard to get it. We've now
had two good away wins but we are not taking anything for
granted," he said.
"We
have been playing well away from home if you look at our results.
However we know we have to improve our home record."
