As
Peter Taylor's problems continue at Filbert Street another
one of City's stars is reported as saying he may quit Leicester
in the summer.
This
mornings News Of The World insists that midfielder Guppy,
who was the subject of transfer speculation earlier in the
season, could be looking for a move away from City due to
his lack of first team chances.
Earlier
in the season Guppy found it hard to get a first team place
and after much speculation, mainly linking him with a move
to Steve Claridge's Portsmouth, he had talks with Taylor and
seemed to settle after being told to think about his options
over the weeks that followed.
But
now Guppy's future is in doubt again after comments that he
has made to the N.O.W. He said, "I've got a year left
on my contract but I'm leaving my options very much open.
"I
love Leicester City but time is passing me by and I really
need to be playing regular first team football.
"I
believe I have another five good years left in me somewhere."
This
season could not have been more different to the others that
Guppy has had at City. When Martin O'Neill was in charge Guppy
was a regular first choice player and one of City's original
batlers. This season though he has found it harder and harder
to break into Peter Taylor's City team.
