City have took a hammering from all sides in the press this
morning with The Sun's goals supplement labeling Peter Taylor's
Foxes "A joke"!
The
Daily Star put it bluntly with the headline "Foxes'
road to ruin", followed by, "This dismal display
will surely lead to more fans questioning the wisdom of
Taylor dividing his time between England and Leicester.
Harsh
perhaps, but the lack of fight and chances, at The Valley
will have been deeply upsetting for the travelling faithful.
No lack of aggression from Charlton, though.
Their
dominance was almost embarrassing."
Today's
Telegraph continues with, "Certainly, it was a fitting
day for Leicester to extend their sequence of successive
away defeats to eight, their worst run for 14 years, because
the performance from Peter Taylor's team was little short
of a joke."
Just
when you thought that it couldn't get any worse The Guardian
hits you with "Leicester are made to look like April
fools". And that was just the headline! The report
makes much worse reading opening with, "Peter Taylor
left the Valley clutching a match video that will not make
pleasant viewing. His Leicester side deservedly suffered
an eighth successive away defeat yesterday and find their
European ambitions fading fast. From third on Boxing Day,
they sit ninth after an April Fool's Day that gave them
little reason to laugh."
They
continued with, "On this form Leicester have no chance
of making it into Europe. They mustered not a single shot
on target and rarely threatened to equalise Andy Todd's
first-half header."
