MILLWALL
have signed ex-City striker Tony Cottee in time for the
transfer deadline - which means the Lions could be fielding
two front men who are ex-managers and ex Foxes for Tuesdays
game against Wycombe.
TC
left Leicester for a very brief spell at Norwich but quickly
moved to be manager of Barnet. He stepped down from there
last week after seeing the team fall down the table despite
a good start under him as player / manager.
Sooper
Stevie Claridge had been temporarily in charge of Portsmouth,
and was doing a good job, before being pushed to one side.
he decided to join Millwall earlier in the week.
The
Lions have both Neil Harris and Paul Moody suspended so
both Cottee and Claridge could go straight into the side.
Chairman
Theo Paphidis said:
"I'm
over the moon to have got both Steve and Tony. We have got
two experienced strikers and that is what we were after."
Millwall
are currently on a trip in Spain, and the chairman said
there had been a lot of phone calls made.
"I'm
very pleased that this has been sorted despite the boys
being out in Spain - but the phone has been burning between
the countries!"
