After the signing of Lee Marshall many of the news services
are full of who City will sign next even though the transfer
deadline is now just hours away.
The
BBC are reporting that Wigan boss Colin Greenall has said
that goalkeeper Roy Carroll will not be leaving to join
City in the summer.
Carroll was the subject of speculation just two days ago
but boss Greenall said, "There will always be people
linked with moving away.
"I
only know that if people make offers I'm not going to say
I want to get rid of anybody.
"I
haven't heard anything about Roy and as far as I'm concerned
nothing is happening.
So
no £2 Million move for Carroll but what about others?
Teamtalk
quotes City's football coordinator Colin Murphy as saying,
"I have always thought that dashing around before the
transfer deadline is sheer folly.
"The decision to bring Lee Marshall to the club was
a measured one and it was not a panic buy, even though it
took place on the eve of the deadline.
"There are one or two other possibilities which are
again calculated because we have been looking at the players
concerned for a period of time. If we find someone who will
be a valuable asset to the team then we will go ahead and
do what we can to bring that player in."
So
who could they be? What about Man Utd's Jonathan Greening?
He has been put on the transfer list at Old Trafford and
newspaper reports reported that he was a possible City target
a few months back.
He
wants first team opportunities and Middassoccer.com reckon
that he could get them at City.
Greening
cost Man Utd £1million when they brought him from
York a couple of years ago and is already know to Peter
Taylor who used to be his boss at Under 21 level, where
he is at the moment.
Middas
though insist that time is running out and that City may
not be able to sign him intime for Deadline day which would
make him another one of those "summer" transfers
that we are hearing so much about lately!
