Everyone's favorite rumour mill Teamtalk.com is reporting
several bizarre stories this evening concerning Ex-City
players and possible City players.
Firstly
they insist that City are again on the verge of signing
Wigan keeper Roy Carroll. Carol's is no stranger to us here
at FFS Towers and has been touted as a replacement for Tim
Flowers for sometime now.
They
again insist though that City are to tempt Wigan with a
£2m fee that they would be hard pressed to turn down.
With
Transfer deadline day looming if Taylor is going to make
any moves it will have to be sooner rather than later although
we still find it hard to believe that he would tell Flower
that he is sticking by him then sign a replacement.
Even
Simon Royce, who has been excellent for us so far this year,
is not picked over Flowers. In any case we will know by
Thursday.
Tony
Cottee is also rumoured to be making moves, this time abroad!
MLS
side New England Revolution are looking at Cottee with a
view to taking him to Boston intime for the new season which
starts in April.
Cottee
could see it as another expedience for him to try before
his playing careerfinishes.
After losing his job at Barnet Cottee was soon being asked
to join Revolution for a pre-season tournament in Florida.
Cottee has seen many sights in his career that have took
him the length of the country and even as far a field as
Malaysia. Although Cottee is remembered more for his years
at West Ham he was also a firm favorite at Filbert Street
and managed to lift everyone's spirit when he scored his
200th goal against Spurs in 1999 to wipe the smile off a
smirking George Graham who paraded the Worthington Cup in
front of City fans.
Cottee
even showed his loyalty to the club when he and Steve Walsh
applied to manage City after O'Neill's departure in the
summer.
If
Cottee does make the move to MLS then he will have gotten
further than ex-teammate Ian Marshall who's MLS move fell
through.
