Leicester City look set to complete the signing of Doncaster Rovers midfielder Richie Wellens within the next 24 hours.
Wellens is reported to have had a medical yesterday, with the loose ends of the signing just needing to be completed before he becomes a Leicester player.
The 29 year old former Manchester United trainee has been Doncaster’s best player since signing from Oldham two years ago, and was named in the League One team of the year in 2004-05, 2006-07 and 2007-08.
The fee is expected to be in the region of £1.2 million.
