Leicester maintained their position at the top of League One with a 2-1 win over bottom team Crewe at the Walkers Stadium tonight.
Leicester started brightly, and deservedly took the lead. Matt Fryatt scored his 16th of the season with an excellent finish following good work by Dyer and Mattock.
Crewe rarely threatened and their equaliser predictably came from a mistake in the Leicester defence. Zola made no mistake with the chance he was gifted.
Zola could have given Crewe a shock half time lead but was thwarted by keeper Martin when he was clean through.
Leicester struggled to create clear cut chances in the second half until the introduction of substitutes Howard and Gradel for Campbell and Oakley.
It was Gradel who created the second goal with a superb delivery from a corner. Saturday’s hero Andy King popped up to score the winner.
